Distributor will be the only to offer latest LG flagship which goes on sale this month

Exertis has signed an exclusive distribution deal with manufacturer LG, for supply of its new G4 flagship handset to the indirect channel.

The handset was unveiled late last month (April 28) in London, and is expected to go on sale later this month, priced £499 SIM-free.

LG also has distribution agreements with Tech Data Mobile and Ingram Micro, but it is not known if they were involved in any tender process for the exclusive.

Exertis has worked closely with LG since gaining a direct distribution agreement with the manufacturer back in 2012 (then Micro P), adding to its deals with Samsung, Microsoft and later Sony.

The distributor will supply LG G4 handsets, to the B2B channel as well as a number of its retail and online partners, which include Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury’s, Argos, Amazon, QVC and Play.com.

“Exertis is proud to be the only UK distributor to work with this premium end device and we’re excited to be able to launch the LG G4 into the UK,” said Exertis sales director Simon Woodman.

LG head of mobile Andrew Coughlin added: “It’s great to have Exertis on board to bring the G4 to the British market. We see this smartphone being popular with a multitude of users, from consumer through to business.”

Upward curve

LG, currently ranked fifth in the world for sales share, has already set ambitious targets for the de- vice, expecting more than eight million to be sold this year and 12 million over its life cycle.

Speaking at the London launch last week, LG electronics president and CEO Juno Cho said the device was capable of competing with “the best of the best” in the current market and was its “most ambitious device” to date, due to its unique curve design and DSLR quality camera.
