Exertis has set out to ramp up its effort to drive sustainability

Exertis has announced a distribution partnership with technology lifecycle solutions provider TES.

The partnership will see Exertis boost its effort on driving sustainability and provide its customers with the ability to offer aged technology devices a second life, in a safe and environmentally friendly way.

TES has set its own ambitions to ‘sustainably transform and re-purpose 1 billion kgs of assets by 2030’.

The company extends the life of tech products through its globally owned and operated network of facilities that spans more than 40 locations across 20 different countries.

All handsets are cleared of any historical data, and once data is cleaned, devices can be remarketed to have a second life.

TES uses certified erasure software Blancco to erase media on PCs, laptops, mobile devices, loose drives, servers or storage systems.

If products can’t be recovered and remarketed, TES’ e-waste recycling plants use state-of-the-art equipment and processing techniques to limit any environmental impact.

TES EMEA vice president Steve Graham said: “This collaboration programme will provide Exertis, its resellers, and ultimately the end-user with the confidence that legacy and obsolete equipment from enterprise, computing or mobility categories are processed and managed to the industry’s strictest controls, ensuring that maximum security and protection of the environment is guaranteed,” he added.

Angelo Apa (pictured), Exertis’ global head of enterprise vendor management added: “We are truly excited to be partnering with TES, given both the importance of safe and thoughtful recycling of IT hardware and the supporting of our resellers in expanding their ability to offer more services to their end users which offer value in both monetary and sustainability terms.”
