GHA: MTN in money transfer push

Mobile network operator MTN Ghana has launched a mobile money service in Africa. The service is also available in Uganda, Ivory Coast and Nigeria.

MTN Mobile Money will enable customers to use their mobile handset to perform financial transactions without requiring a bank account.

Transactions can be made between non-MTN users as well.

MTN Ghana chief Brett Goschen said: “The introduction of MTN Mobile Money which is convenient, accessible, safe and easy, demonstrates the company’s commitment to bring world class mobile services.

“The secured system and processes conforms to best practices in the industry and highly regulated by relevant authorities.”
