Department store chain to sell ‘Juice’ range in second high street deal

Accessories distributor Gusto Telecom Solutions has signed a deal with high street department store chain John Lewis to sell its ‘Juice’ charging products.

The retail chain will begin taking orders of its handset charging products by the end of the week, with products being available in stores and online in time for Christmas.

It is the second high street agreement that Coventry-based Gusto has agreed since its formation in August, following a deal with Fonehouse last month.

Priced £9.95 each, Juice charging products are compatible with handsets including the Apple iPhone 5 and BlackBerry smartphones. A universal charger is also available for £14.99. Each product is packaged in a cardboard drinks carton bearing the strapline ‘Juice for your mobile’.

Gusto managing director Joe Bennett told Mobile News: “We are constantly striving to develop products and propositions that are a little different and it is exciting when a retailer recognises this and supports it. John Lewis is the perfect partner to convey the message that power does not need to be boring and we’re looking forward to building a long-term, mutually beneficial trading relationship.”

John Lewis consumer electronics accessories junior buyer En-ni Chi said: “We were really impressed with Joe’s concept from the outset. While a mobile phone charger is a general accessory, the ‘Juice’ range is cleverly and innovatively packaged and has the potential to become a strong brand within the mobile accessories sector. Retailing at an affordable price point, we think a Juice carton will make a great stocking-filler for Christmas.”
