Huawei brings out £1,699 folding phone

Huawei has launched a £1,699 flagship folding phone called the Mate Xs 2. It is now available to pre-order on the Huawei Store and will be on sale from September 12.

The device has a 7.8″ True-Chroma Foldable Display with a resolution of 2480 x 2200 and a 50MP camera System with telephoto and wide angle lenses. Photos can be previewed in real time through the digital viewfinder on both screens.

The device weighs only 255g and is made from ultra-light glass fibres for the phone’s backplane, aerospace-grade titanium alloys and light steel.

Huawei says the double-rotating ‘Falcon Wing Hinge Design makes it as flat and smooth as a mirror when opened up.

It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 flagship series chip said to be around 15 per cent better than the old Snapdragon 865+.The phone is available in white, with a natural leather texture.
