Svendsen-Tune will join from Nokia Networks on April 1

Unified communications headset manufacturer Jabra has appointed René Svendsen-Tune as its new chief executive officer.

The European and Latin America president of Nokia Networks replaces Niels Svenningsen who is resigning for family reasons.

Svenningsen, who joined Jabra in December 2013, will assist Svendsen-Tune to “ensure a smooth transition”.

The new chief executive officer will take up the role on April 1 although Svendsen-Tune has been a non-executive board member of GN Store Nord (Group holding company) since 2007.

“We are sad to see Niels leave as he made great contributions to the company during his tenure. Niels secured a strong launch of our new and very unique products and positioned the company well for even stronger results in the future”, said GN Store Nord Chairman Per Wold-Olsen.

“As Niels is leaving I am very pleased to see René being able and willing to accept the job as CEO of GN Netcom. René is finishing his assignment as president in Nokia Networks at the end of March and can go straight into this leadership position at GN Netcom.

“To have such an experienced professional as René with detailed knowledge of GN Netcom take over the leadership at this time will indeed secure continued smooth operations and continued flawless execution of our 2014 – 2016 strategy.”

Danish-headquarted Jabra posted revenues of £277 million for the year-ending December 31 2014. The company said its UK and Ireland division was up almost 25 per cent over the reporting period.
