The company was founded in Eastbourne in 2018 and recently passed 60,000 premises

East Sussex based internet service provider Lightning Fibre has announced a multi-million pound expansion into west Sussex and Kent.

It has recently increased its investment from infrastructure and private equity investment manager Foresight group to support the expansion.

Investment for Eastbourne and Hastings was granted in October 2020, with further investment in March 2021 to reach Halisham and Heathfield.

New private funding means gigabit broadband will reach Haywards Heath and Tenterden along with more towns due to be reviewed.

The investment means the build of 140,000 premises is fully funded and the expansion will create new local jobs.

Founder and CEO of Lightning Fibre, Ben Ferriman said: “This is a very exciting time for Lightning Fibre and highlights our rapid progress and success so far.

“We’ve built a brand that appeals to our local markets through a clear product and price differentiation as well as a genuine, evidence-based community-centric approach and exceptional customer care.

“We have thousands of happy customers in Eastbourne, and I am delighted that we have recently connected our first customers in Heathfield and Hailsham.”
