The rollout will be achieved within the next two years

Lycamobile has partnered with Sim Local to start selling SIM cards at WHSmith shops across a number of UK airports.

Customers are able to connect to the new SIM cards within a matter of seconds through Sim Local’s technology platform UNITE.

The partnership is expected to be rolled out to the airports within the next two years.

The list of airports include London Heathrow, London Gatwick, London Stansted, Luton, Birmingham and Manchester.

Lyca Group chairman and founder Allirajah Subaskaran said: “By partnering with Sim Local and WHSmith, our customers can buy and activate plans much more quickly, so they can spend less time waiting at the airport and get on with their trip.”

Sim Local CEO Killian Whelan added: “Together we will help ensure that travellers can stay seamlessly connected when visiting the UK.”

Lycamobile recently picked up the “Most Successful MVNO” award at the MVNOs World Congress.
