Former head of public sector’s appointment comes after the mobile operator acquired the airtime distributor last month

Mainline Digital Communications has appointed former EE head of public sector Martin Tufft to the new position of sales and marketing director.

Tufft, who’s appointment became effective on January 6, is now responsible for developing and implementing Mainline’s sales and marketing strategy, including customer service, product development and partner relationships.

He also joins Mainline finance and commercial director Steve Chandler, EE CFO Neal Milsom and EE CMO Gerry McQuade on the Mainline board after EE acquired the airtime distributor for an undisclosed fee last month.

Tufft has more than 20 years of experience in the mobile industry, and most recently spent five years at EE as head of public sector.

He began his career in telecoms at BT, where he held numerous sales and marketing positions at BT over an 11 year period. He was also divisional sales manager at Carphone Warehouse for a year and assistant director of sales at LSG for two years before joining EE in 2010.

Tufft said: “Today more than ever, mobile technology has the power to change the face of businesses in the UK – allowing them to be more flexible and improve productivity. Together with our partners, we are helping UK businesses to transform the way they work through the power of mobility and 4G connectivity.”
