Maintel eyes more acquisitions following Datapoint purchase

Vodafone gold partner seeking further deals as it reports a slight rise in revenue and profit for the first half of this year 

Maintel is looking for more acquisitions following its purchase of the UK and Irish operations of the Datapoint group of companies for £3.5 million.

The acquisition of Datapoint Customers Solutions, Datapoint Global Services and Datapoint Communications was announced to the London Stock Exchange on September 13.

The Datapoint companies provide consulting and professional services in unified communications, with particular strength in contact centre solutions. Other offerings including managed services and equipment sales.

It is Maintel’s third acquisition in four years, having bought Redstone maintenance assets for £1.75 million in October 2010 and B2B dealer Totility for £7 million last November.

This latest deal was followed by Maintel reporting its financial results for the six months to June 30, which showed a year-on-year rise of one per cent in group revenue to £13.56 million, with profit before tax increasing two per cent to £2.36 million.

The company said its balance sheet is strong and it continues to actively seek out acquisitions that will add clear shareholder and strategic value t0 the group.

The further development of the Maintel customer base in the UK and Ireland through the acquisition provides an excellent platform for growth as the economy recovers.
