Carphone Warehouse giving away a 10-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab and accessories to the first 1,000 customers that pre-order the new smartphone

The Carphone Warehouse, Phones 4U and all the major mobile operators have confirmed they will sell the Samsung Galaxy S III when it goes on sale in the UK. The smartphone will be available from May 30.

The first 1,000 customers to pre-order the device at Carphone Warehouse online or via the retailer’s call centre will receive a free 10-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab. In addition they will receive an InvisibleSHIELD protector and in-car micro USB charger, resulting in a combined value of £428.98.

All other customers who pre-order the smartphone will receive a Sandisk 32GB microSD memory card worth £29.99, as well as the InvisibleSHIELD protector and in-car micro USB charger.

Carphone Warehouse CEO Andrew Harrison said: “Anticipation surrounding the Samsung Galaxy SIII launch has been huge. It’s one of the biggest launches of the year and marks an exciting and innovative new stage in the smartphone market.

“The unveiling at Earl’s Court certainly didn’t disappoint – this phone is an impressive piece of kit, perfect for people looking for a large high resolution screen and a fluid user experience. We’re sure that Carphone Warehouse customers will be very keen to try it out.”

Phones 4U is offering customers that pre-order the Galaxy S III an exclusive “premium accessory bundle” worth over £50.

The retailer said that when offered customers to pre-register for updates on the impending smartphone, it saw treble the amount of interest than it had received in the first 24 hours alone.

Phones 4U chief commercial officer Scott Hooton said: “Phones 4u has a strong history of successfully launching Samsung Galaxy devices, resulting in our recent collaboration with Samsung that saw the launch of a dedicated experience zone at our London Oxford Street store.

Accounting for 44 per cent of Galaxy SII contract sales on the high street in 2011 (according to GfK contract market share data for high street retail), and being the first retailer to ‘globally’ launch the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, we’re thrilled to be offering our customers the new Samsung Galaxy S III in addition to the widest range of live Samsung handsets available for demonstration anywhere in the UK.”

The Samsung Galaxy S III was unveiled at a launch event at the Earls Court Exhibition Centre in London last night. It is the follow-up to the Galaxy S II, which has seen sales top 20 million units worldwide since its release in April 2011.
