Meriel Lenfestey appointed as new chair to the Board of JT Group

Meriel Lenfestey to work towards JT’s new five-year strategy to grow the business

The Board of the JT Group has announced Meriel Lenfestey as their new Chair. Prior to this appointment, Meriel was the Director on the Board of the government owned communications services from 2016 and was its Senior Independent Director.

She has expertise as a customer experience entrepreneur in a variety of business sectors, and her work focuses on the short- and long-term effects that business decisions have on stakeholders.

Meriel, who has a Masters from the Royal College of Art, had previously worked in the 1990s for the BBC in London and Microsoft in Seattle. Meriel is the current chair of Gemserv, a professional services and consultancy company in the energy and low carbon market.

She also serves as a non-executive director for Boku, a Guernsey-based company that is a world leader in mobile payment solutions and is listed on the AIM. She serves on the boards of the Guernsey IoD and Art for Guernsey on a volunteer basis.

Meriel will be taking over from from Phil Male, who has held the position since 2018.

Meriel Lenfestey says: “I’m really looking forward to taking over as Chair from Phil and supporting JT as we deliver our new five-year strategy. JT is already making great strides in ensuring the needs of all our stakeholders are at the heart of everything we do, and I’ll be working closely with the team to develop that further.
