Networks tempt students with special deals

Unlimited data tariff among offers.

Students going to university are being offered special deals from Three, Virgin Media and EE on phones, SIM cards and broadband connections.

Three is giving students an unlimited introductory plan of £9.50 a month for six months which reverts to £19 a month on a two-year contract. Another special deal called Student SIM Saver offering unlimited calls, texts and data for £1999 for 10 months. Three is also bundling a Google Pixel 6a and Samsung Chromebook 4+ with unlimited data for £38 a month and an upfront charge of £20 for a two year contract.

Virgin Media is offering flexible 30 day broadband packages targeted at students staying in student accommodations. These deals start from £25 per month for 108mbps, if taken on a12 month contract, or £39 pounds per month for 213mbps on a flexible contracts. The one year contract also offers broadband and drama shows starting from £37.99 a month and goes up to £47.99 a month based on the students broadband speed requirements.

EE is offering 20 per cent off selected phones or SIM plans and an extra 500MB of data per month.
