O2 B2B channel posts best-ever quarter

Avenir, Azzurri and Davison Communications post record sales for O2, as business sales director Ben Dowd pays tribute

O2 last quarter recorded its best-ever quarter for B2B connections, with record sales from a number of channel partners.

O2 claimed the success shows the wisdom of its revenue share programme with dealers and distributors.

O2 highlighted performances by Centre of Excellence partners Avenir Telecom and Azzurri Communications, which each recorded best-ever quarterly connections for the operator.

Avenir Telecom said last week it had broken O2’s record for new connections during Q2, connecting more O2 business than its two nearest distributor rivals combined.

Also, Centre of Excellence dealer Davison Communications received praise for selling more O2 Joined Up connections than any other O2 partner.

O2 has backed its channel sales push for products such as Joined Up and BlackBerry with support for a number of distributor incentives and cash rewards.

O2 business sales director Ben Dowd said: “In December 2009, I asked our channel partners to support our strategy to outpace the competition and achieve their best ever performance in 2010

“I’m delighted to have had our best ever quarter in Q2 and we thank our partners for their incredible performance.

“We took a fair amount of criticism when we launched revenue share, but I thoroughly believe these results bear out the fact that it was the right thing to do.”
