Highlights include Ben Dowd becoming sales director and Patricia Cobian replacing Mark Evans as chief financial officer

O2 has announced a series of changes to its senior management team following the appointment of Mark Evans as new CEO.

Ben Dowd (pictured), who was previously business director, takes the position of sales director and is responsible for all of the mobile operator’s sales and distribution channels, including O2 stores, online, channel sales and supply chain.

Evans, who took leadership of O2 UK on August 1 following the departure of Ronan Dunne, has been replaced as chief financial officer by strategy and transformation director Patricia Cobian.

Nina Bibby, who was previously marketing and consumer director, is now chief marketing officer and responsible for all marketing across O2 (consumer and business), while Derek McManus continues as chief operating officer, adding customer service to his current remit.

The changes also see general counsel Ed Smith appointed to the board, with both HR director Ann Pickering and digital director David Plumb both continuing in their existing roles.

Evans said the changes will ensure O2 is “best placed to drive future business growth.”
