A1 Comms are expecting to exceed £130 million in turnover and £2 million in profit at the end of its financial year in March

A1 Comms has appointed former O2 B2B head Steve Heald to take charge of its B2B division.

In his role, Heald is tasked with with growing the customer base and managing over tens of thousands of B2B connections.

He brings over 15 years of telecoms experience to the Alfreton-based consumer and B2B telecommunications provider.

Heald joins from the UK’s second largest operator, O2, where he was head of B2B direct partners for a year, covering Sarah Davis, who was on maternity leave. At the operator, he led a team responsible of developing business mobile and digital revenues via O2 partners.

Heald set up and led SSE’s consumer telecoms division from 2012-17, and was digital director at EE, followed by Orange B2B sales director for almost five years.

A1 Comms connects customers through all major networks. Heald revealed that the firm will focus on enhancing fixed-line offerings by the summer to cater to all B2B customer needs.

Heald said on his appointment: “I sense a big appetite here for growth at A1 Comms, which is fantastic to be part of. I know the team I’m managing is both experienced and enthusiastic, making the prospect even more exciting.”

A1 Comms CEO Paul Sisson added: “He brings unrivalled experience and expertise in the B2B dealer sector. We’re very ambitious about growing our B2B revenue and I’m confident Steve is the person to help us achieve it.”

A1 Comms expects to exceed £130 million in turnover and £2 million in profit at the end of its financial year in March. Last year, it took £120 million in revenue and generated post-tax profits of £635,000.
