Vodafone platinum partner appoints M&A and business development veteran Roger Flynn, as well as Azzurri’s former head of major bid sales Nick Beardsley

Olive Communications has bolstered its senior management team with the appointments of Roger Flynn as non-executive director and Nick Beardsley as converged solutions director.

Flynn (pictured right) has held senior positions at several high-profile companies. He was commercial director for Virgin for seven years, general manager for world sales at British Airways for three years, managing director of both Prudential Assurance and Prudential Retail for two years and chief executive of BBC Ventures Group for almost four year.

Beardsley (pictured left) joins from Azzurri Communications, where he had been head of major bid sales. He worked at the mobile and unified communications provider for nine years and won the Avaya Channel Salesman of the Year award two years in a row.

The appointments come a month after Olive acquired fellow Vodafone platinum partner Wish Communications for an undisclosed fee. The deal saw Olive add 45,000 connections, mostly to Vodafone, taking its base to above 110,000 and giving it 6,000 customers in all.

Olive CEO Martin Flick said: “We have strong plans for Olive and these two appointments to the management team are integral to achieving Olive’s full potential as well as demonstrating the pedigree of talent we are now attracting. These are the last two pieces of the jigsaw from a management perspective, complementing our team perfectly.

“Roger’s advice and guidance along with Nick’s innate talent for business development can only propel Olive to even greater heights. Our aspirations and plans for the next three years are very exciting indeed, and we expect to challenge more established players in the market with a dynamic and very compelling proposition.”
