Merger of two of Vodafone’s biggest dealers will see Onecom revenues top £80 million

Vodafone Platinum Partner Onecom has bought rival dealer Evolve in a deal set to add £20 million to its annual turnover.

Onecom is Vodafone’s largest partner with over 250,000 connections prior to the acquisition. Evolve’s 65,000 business connections will take Onecom’s base to more than 300,000.

Whiteley-based Onecom, which turns over around £60 million a year, expects the deal to add £7 million to its earnings within the first year of completion.

Onecom CEO Darren Ridge said: “This is a very significant acquisition for Onecom as we continue to grow in our position as the UK’s leading independent business communications provider.

“Evolve’s customer-focused approach, expertise in unified communications and commitment to providing innovative solutions for businesses of all sizes perfectly reflect Onecom’s own strategy and values. Evolve is an extremely successful operation that will continue to blossom and grow under the Onecom brand.”

Welsh office

The deal will see Onecom add more than 100 staff to its 350-strong workforce. It will also add its first Welsh office, alongside locations in London, Cambridge and Shoeburyness.

Last month, Onecom was named Vodafone Total Communications Partner of the Year 2016 at the annual VPS Conference.

Nick-Birtwistle-Vodafone-UK-webVodafone director of partnerships and alliances Nick Birtwistle (pictured, right) said: “This deal between two key Vodafone UK partners is exciting news for our channel and our customers.

“Both Onecom and Evolve have been a part of the Vodafone Partner Programme since its inception, and have led the field in expanding their capabilities to meet our customers’ ever-changing needs.

“This move will see them grow even further in strength, continuing to lead the Total Communications revolution.”
