Vodafone Platinum Partner has signed up more than £21 million worth of contracts in first three months

Onecom is targeting revenue growth of 27 per cent to £70 million this year after enjoying its most successful Q1 ever.

The Whiteley-based Vodafone Platinum Partner, which employs more than 300 people across six UK offices, signed contracts worth £21.4 million between January and March.

These consisted of £6.3 million of new mobile connections along with £9.3 million in contract renewals with existing customers. Onecom has a base of 260,000 mobile connections, predominantly on Vodafone.

This year’s success so far also included £4 million in fixed line service sales and 50 Vodafone One Net deals with a combined order value of over £1.8 million. Customers wins included Air France, Harley Davidson, Co-Op, Topps Tiles and the Stroke Association.

Onecom CEO Darren Ridge (pictured) attributed its success to the record-breaking contract with Vodafone signed last year to deliver revenues of up to £500 million over the next five years.

Ready for the challenge
He also praised the impact of its business-lead generation team in Brighton for creating a number of new opportunities. This was formerly Black Sheep Communications, which Onecom acquired in September 2013 for an undisclosed fee.

“If all goes to plan, we’re on target to achieve revenues of £70 million this year. Our success is being based on the combination of the new Vodafone Partner agreement, which has spurred us into the need for growth. Our team in Brighton have also been outstanding in producing opportunities for us.

“I am confident that this is just the beginning of a brand new phase in Onecom’s development. Our focus is clear – we’re determined to deliver the very best products, solutions and service across all segments.

“Having signed the biggest partnership deal in Vodafone’s history at the end of 2015, there’s a big job to do.

“We are more than ready for the challenge as seen by the business we have been conducting.”

Vodafone Partner Services sector head of strategic partnerships Kathryn Platt added: “Onecom’s focus on the experience of their customers is what differentiates them in the marketplace. We are very proud to have worked with Onecom to deliver such an outstanding performance.”
