Outlets to be branded as Samsung but run by Phones 4u staff, selling the latest smartphones, tablets and wearable technology from the manufacturer

Phones 4u will extend its retail partnership with Samsung by opening an additional 15 stores branded in the manufacturer’s name.

The flagship outlets, which will be managed by Phones 4u and staffed by the retailer’s teams, will showcase Samsung’s latest smartphones, tablets and wearable technology.

Phones 4u has yet to specify where the stores will be located and how many jobs will be created as a result of the new openings.

This is in addition to the Samsung store in Westfield Stratford, where Phones 4u personnel sell a range of products from the manufacturer. The retailer also ran pop-up stores for Samsung as part of the latter’s official sponsorship of the London 2012 Olympics.

It is the second major high street retail deal announced by Samsung in the past week. On January 29, the manufacturer signed a deal with Carphone Warehouse that will see it open 60 standalone stores across Europe, around 20 of which will be located in the UK.

Phones 4u chief marketing officer Scott Hooton said: “The first 15 stores will showcase the full range of Samsung phones, computing accessories and wearable technology. We are thrilled to be further developing our relationship.”
