Samsung has expanded its mid-range Galaxy A series with a trio of new smartphones.

The vendor has unveiled the Galaxy A52 5G and A72 smartphones, while there is also a 4G version of the A52.

Samsung has confirmed the A52 5G and A72 are available to buy from today (March 17) in the UK from major retailers.

The Samsung A52 5G is available from £399, while the A72 costs £419, with the A52 expected to be around £349.

A key focus of the latest Galaxy A series has been around the camera technology with both the A52 5G and A72 running similar quad-camera set-ups, including a 64MP main camera and 32MP front camera.

The Galaxy A52 5G comes with a 6.5-inch screen, compared to the A72 which has a 6.7-inch display.

Both come with 6GB of RAM and 128GB internal storage, with the option to expand memory further through a micro SD card of up 1TB.

The Galaxy A72 just edges out the A52 5G with its battery being 5,000mAh compared to the latter’s 4,500mAh.

Commenting on the launch, Samsung Electronics corporate vice president UK and Ireland Conor Pierce said: “The Samsung Galaxy A52 5G offers cutting-edge features, including a vivid and smoother display, long-lasting battery and cameras designed to keep up with the demands of content creators. All this is powered by 5G, putting innovation in the hands of the next generation.”

Samsung has confirmed the Galaxy A52 5G and A72 are available in violet, blue, black and white colours.
