Vodafone rolls out broadband and landline services to 22m premises

Consumer fibre-optic broadband offers speeds of up to 76Mbps, with customers signing up from today receiving a free year-long subscription to Netflix 

Vodafone has rolled out it broadband and home phone services, available in nearly 22 million UK premises.

The consumer fibre-optic broadband proposition, ‘Connect’ offers speeds of up to 76Mbps, with the service being provided through a plug-and-play router.

It was officially launched on June 10 with an initial rollout in Manchester, Berkshire and parts of Hampshire and Surrey before being available to existing Vodafone mobile customers on August 12.

Now it is available to both existing and new customers across the UK and to celebrate this, anyone signing up from today will receive free access to internet television network Netflix for a year.

Whether customers choose Superfast Fibre+ Broadband (up to 76Mbps), Superfast Fibre Broadband (up to 38Mbps) or Broadband  ADSL (up to 17Mbps), Vodafone is giving them £5 off the standard price every month for the duration of their agreement, which it claims makes it one of the best value broadband and home phone packages in the UK.

Vodafone Red contract mobile customers will also receive inclusive anytime calls to UK landlines and 300 minutes to mobile numbers. In addition, each customer receives inclusive evening and weekend calls to UK landline numbers, plus Sure Signal units to boost mobile coverage indoors if needed.

The operator said the newly updated Vodafone Connect mobile app, available as a free download form the Apple App and Google Play Stores, along with the free router, offer a range of features.

‘Boost’ enables customers to prioritise WiFi speeds to a chosen device for up to 12 hours, giving that device priority over others within the home; ‘Beam’ uses ‘Beamforming’ technology to focus the WiFi signal to compatible devices wherever they are in the home.

‘Family’ enables broadband users to manage and set time limits to give them control over when WiFi is available and when it’s not, and they can control the app experience by selecting personas bet suited to their needs – ‘General’, ‘Family’ or ‘Business’. Customers can also chat online directly with a Vodafone agent to ask questions not covered in the FAQ, direct from the app.

Separately, Vodafone is also offering the ‘Easy Switching’ service which means that when a customer decides to order Vodafone Broadband and has informed their provider where required, the mobile operator will coordinate everything; from transferring the service from the old provider to setting up the connection with it and ensuring everything is working as it should be.
