No word on what next for distribution veteran

Westcoast head of mobile Darren Seward will leave the distributor at the end of the month.

In a post on LinkedIn, he wrote: “I will be leaving Westcoast at the end of this month after nearly 11 years. I want to thank all my customers, vendors, suppliers and Westcoast colleagues/friends for their support over this time. It has been good to help build Westcoast into a credible player in the mobile space. I am looking forward to my next challenge whatever that may be.”

Seward joined Reading-based Westcoast as business manager for non-HP client devices in 2009 after nine years at Ingram Micro, where he had risen to become general manager for software and mobility.

In 2016 he became head of mobile, helping to grow relationships with Huawei, Apple, Samsung and Bullitt Group, as well as managing Westcoast’s value added mobile services such as SOTI, Lightspeed and MendIT.

Seward and Westcoast management declined to comment to Mobile News, who understands that Westcoast’s mobile business has seen a decline during lockdown.
