The scheme has been designed to give customers better flexibility in their contract

Virgin Media has announced a new trade up scheme in partnership with Brightstar UK.

The new ‘Trade Up & Trade In’ scheme will offer Virgin Media mobile customers the opportunity to trade up to a newer handset whenever they want.

As part of this, customers will trade-in their existing handset to offset the remaining months of their handset contract.

To trade up, existing ‘Freestyle’ customers need to contact Virgin Media’s mobile team for a valuation of their handset and agree an upgrade, with a new device and a pre-paid envelope then sent out for the customer to return their old phone.

Following this the customers’ 24 or 36 month contract is then refreshed, with the ability to Trade Up once again.

Virgin Media product executive director Annie Brooks says the scheme has been designed to give customers greater flexibility.

“We’ve been offering flexible airtime for many years, ensuring our mobile plans keep up with our customers’ ever changing needs, and now with our new Trade Up and Trade In offering, our customers have even more freedom to pick a new device whenever they desire – regardless of how long is left on their contract.”

Brightstar VP Gerry O’Keeffe adds: “Virgin Media recognise that customers want more flexibility, together we’ll be bringing customers even more choice with a hassle-free way to turn their old device into cashback or an early upgrade to a great new phone.”
