Vodafone and Ericsson to deploy 5G Core in the UK

Vodafone has launched a new flexible product called Evo which offers a combination of flexible contract lengths (up to 36 months), trade-in and upgrade allowance an12 months sets a new benchmark in customer flexibility.
Customers who want to hang on to their phones, get a replacement battery under a ‘Battery Refresh’ offer.
There is also a choice of how much is paid upfront for a new device and contract length from 12 to 36 months A trade-in can be made after a year.
An EVO contract also includes a two-year warranty and weekly VeryMe Rewards. Vodafone is also giving the flexibility of unlimited data with an Unlimited Data Booster’.
Customers can activate free unlimited data for 30 days, up to six times, on selected plans.
Standout
Analyst Paolo Pescatore of PP Foresight said it was a “standout affordable offering”.
“People are now more price-conscious than ever and value connectivity above anything else. As restrictions ease many households will be evaluating their current telecoms and media set-up, some will consolidate and look to move services.
“Expect a frenzy of promos as a buoyant switching market awaits. However, TV is the missing piece in this quest to the UK converged champion. If it has grenadier aspirations to compete with BT and the newly merged Virgin Media O2 entity, then it must offer a tv service of some kind.”
The data flexibility of EVO is similar to the way Sky Mobile enabled customers to manage their data.
