French repair and service company ANOVO has struck a deal with Staples for a laptop and netbook trade-in programme

ANOVO has won a contract with office equipment and IT retailer Staples to manage its in-store laptop and netbook trade-in service, ‘Trade in and Save’, across its national footprint.

Staples is offering up to £60 per laptop or netbook handed in, as long as it comes complete with a power cable, battery and operating software. ANOVO collects the devices from Staples stores and processes the units at ANOVO’s Manchester site, ensuring all data is removed. Staples then issues a certificate to the customer in-store that includes a ‘data wipe’ guarantee.

ANOVO UK chief commercial officer Stephen Maxwell (pictured) said: “In terms of laptop recycling its one of the first nationwide schemes. It’s a key market for us.”
