LG Optimus One goes on sale

The first phone from LG’s Optimus series goes on sale at The Carphone Warehouse, Orange, T-Mobile and Three from £20 a month

The LG Optimus One, the first smartphone from the manufacturer’s Optimus series, has gone on sale in the UK. Starting at £20 a month, it is available at The Carphone Warehouse, Orange, T-Mobile and Three.

The Optimus One, aimed at first time smartphone users, is based on the Android 2.2 operating platform. It comes with a 3.2-inch touchscreen, three-megapixel camera with face tracking and smile shot and standard 3.5mm headphone jack.

The Optimus One includes the exclusive LG App Advisor, which recommends 10 highly rated applications every two weeks.

LG Mobile head of marketing Alex Windle said: “LG has proven successful in bringing affordable technology to the masses, as we did with Cookie, and we want to do the same with our Optimus smartphones.”
