The partnerships have the potential for Weave.tech to sell SIMs to more than two million devices

Weave.tech has struck four new retail partnerships ahead of the busy fourth quarter of the year.

The four retail partners, which Weave has not named, will provide the eSIM enabler with the opportunity to sell SIMs to more than two million devices.

Weave, formerly known as CTech Group before rebranding earlier this year, specialises in enabling retailers to sell software along with hardware via SIM- only products.

Via the new partnerships, Weave will showcase its new suite of e-commerce plug-ins, giving customers the potential to add a contract and SIM when buying a handset through the retailers.

The plug-ins include three new routes to sales, with an SDK (a kit that simplifies integration), a Weave.tech Shopify app and standard APIs.

The company’s founder, Ashley Bailey, said: “Weave.tech has done all the hard work of building the network relationships and then building software that will talk to the network systems.

“The weave.tech software manages the SIM transaction – including network credit checks and address validation – adding the SIM to the phone in the customer basket seamlessly and quickly. It all takes place online, or in-store, in seconds.” Weave has traditionally focused on the mobile sector, but is extending this to broadband, TV and IoT, with the former being added later this year.
