O2 renames BE Wholesale as O2 Wholesale to bring division in line with joined up communications approach

O2 has today (March 13) announced its wholesale broadband division BE Wholesale will be rebranded O2 Wholesale bringing it into line with the rest of its UK businesses.

O2 says the division will continue to work as it has in the past, with the same leadership and ability to offer services to both the consumer market and wholesale channel.

As well as rebranding the division it has also been announced O2 Wholesale will launch a new secure, high speed data connectivity service for its wholesale partners.

The new service called O2 Wholesale Ethernet will provide a secure and private network platform from which O2 partners can connect customer sites to and provide them with added services such as video, voice and data.

Other key features also include uncontended bandwidth up to 1GB, unlimited usage and dedicated fibre connection to customer sites.

O2 Wholesale managing director Chris Stening said: “We believe the growing market for cloud services will be a key driver in increasing Ethernet take up in the coming months and years.

“As more and more applications move to the cloud and access in any location becomes increasingly important, our partners serving the UK market are increasingly looking to offer a joined up connectivity strategy to serve their customers.

“These changes help our partners get closer to that ideal and deliver their end users with the best fixed and mobile offerings on the market.”

O2 business director Ben Dowd (pictured) added: “More than ever businesses want to simplify and leverage their communications and IT to grow their business.

“O2 Wholesale allows our partners to innovate on our award winning fixed and mobile networks and bring our Joined Up Business strategy to their customers.”
