The two parties have worked with each other since 2016

Cinos has been selected by the Royal United Hospitals Bath NHS Foundation Trust to help modernise its unified communications platform.

A range of communications channels will be provided for the Trust’s 6,500 employees, with the Cisco-powered UC platform providing voice, video, personal and team messaging, voicemail and content sharing.

The move will enable staff to work more flexibly while on site and when working remotely. This includes the extension of audio and video calls to Microsoft Teams.

The Trust has been working with Cinos since 2016, when the Trust selected Cinos to replace its telephone system.

Royal United Hospitals Bath NHS Foundation Trust chief technology officer Liam Abbott said: “The benefits of the new platform will also extend to patients, as a new centrally managed contact centre will make it easier for them to engage with our clinical services.

“By improving the quality and efficiency of communications, we’re making our services more accessible to those who depend on them.”

Cloud-based

The strong partnership between the two parties will enable Cinos to provide a cloud-based platform for the Trust, which provides acute treatment and care for around 500,000 people in Bath and the surrounding areas.

Updates made to the telephony system and contact centre will also lay the foundations for any future updates that the Trust requires.

Cinos director of healthcare Tony King added: “Having a robust and resilient communication infrastructure is important for any organisation, but for an acute Trust it is critical.

“Our experience and deep understanding of this type of environment enables us to deliver best practice, value and innovation, especially as organisations look to transition to more integrated models of care.”

Cinos’ platform and service began its rollout in March 2021, ahead of going live in September.
