3 Gigafast package now available in 12 London boroughs

Community Fibre has set a new speed standard for broadband in London by launching the Capital’s first 3 Gigabit home broadband service.

The New package is the fastest available speed offered to residential customers in London with download and upload speeds of 3Gbps.

The launch reinforces Community Fibre as London’s fastest full-fibre network and marks a key milestone in future-proofing homes for the inevitable increase in data usage.

Community Fibre CEO Graeme Oxby commented: “We are delighted to show the advantage of full-fibre networks in delivering much faster broadband speeds.

“We have launched 3 Gigabit home broadband today and expect to go well beyond this in the future.

“We believe that multi-gigabit speed will be an essential need for homes and businesses, proving vital to the UK’s global competitiveness. By using 100% full-fibre instead of outdated copper or hybrid cables, Community Fibre becomes the first to make multi-gigabit speed a reality in London, ensuring the capital’s communities are ready to cope with the increased broadband demands for years to come. With community at the heart of everything we do, we are also committed to providing the 3Gbps access for free to multiple community centres across London.”

The 3 Gigafast package is 46 times faster than the UK download average and 214 times faster than the UK upload average. The New broadband package also allows a multi-gigabit enabled device to reach 3Gbps, as well as enabling multiple devices to reach 1Gbps speeds at the same time without compromising speed and reliability.

The new 3 Gigafast package is available for a 24-month contract at £99 per month and includes:

· Free installation and set up
· Free WiFi 6 Zyxel router
· Prices locked for the duration of the contract
· Same download and upload speed (up to 3Gbps)

From today the package is available in 12 London boroughs including Barnet, Brent, City of London, Croydon, Lewisham, Newham, Richmond upon Thames, Southwark, Sutton, Tower Hamlets, Wandsworth, and Westminster. Community Fibre will continue to roll out to more boroughs across London in the near future.
