Operator will roll out its Vodafone One unified comms product for use by company’s 350 staff

Vodafone has secured a contract to roll out its Vodafone One unified communications system to white label foreign exchange service provider First Rate Exchange Services Limited.

The deal will see First Rate’s 350 staff able to make and receive calls on a single number as well as gaining access to features such as conference calling, instant messaging and video calling.

According to First Rate head of IT Adam Jacobs the adoption of Vodafone One will save the company £450,000 in communications costs over five years.

Jacobs also believes Vodafone One will allow more efficient use of existing office space, with all staff across the company’s three offices now being able to work flexibly wherever they are.

“Our goal is to enable agile working so that we are both responsive to our customers and making more effective use of the resources we have,” Jacobs said.

“With true single-number access to staff, wherever they are and whichever device they are using, this solution will help us cut the time it takes to communicate and reach decisions.

“It also helps us satisfy the expectations of the new generation of ‘millennial’ workers who are comfortable with tools like IM, collaboration and presence-enabled communications, and appreciate the  ability to work flexibly.”

First Net will integrate the Vodafone One Solution with its existing Microsoft Office Communications Server (OCS) solution and its Nortel phone system.
