Exertis bags exclusive LG G5 distribution deal

Smartphone is compatible with plug-in modules to enhance camera and audio functionality

Exertis has secured exclusive UK distribution rights for the new LG G5 smartphone.

The device, which was unveiled at Mobile World Congress in February, went on sale at major retailers and mobile operators last week.

It compatible with a number of modular add-ons. The LG Cam Plus is a camera extension that can be attached through the battery slot to provide a grip and DSLR-style controls, with buttons for power, shutter, zoom and record. This provides an additional battery capacity of 1,200mAh.

A second module, the LG HiFi Plus with B&O Play, has been developed in partnership with Bang & Olufsen to deliver high resolution audio playback that can be used with the phone or as a standalone DAC attached to a hi-fi system or PC.

LG also announced the ‘Friends’ collection for the G5.The first is the 360 VR, a headset that can be connected via a dedicated cable, while the 360 Cam is a 360-degree angle camera with two 13 megapixel 200 degree wide angle snappers, 1,200mAh battery and 4GB of internal memory.

The Rolling Bot is a home security device that rolls like a ball and captures images and videos with an eight megapixel camera, which connects to the G5 via the LG Friends Manager app.
