Pusey will provide strategic leadership and advisory input as part of his role

Former Vodafone Group chief technology officer Steve Pusey has joined BAI Communications as its chair of the board.

Pusey joins the board of the communications infrastructure provider, taking over the position from non-executive director Bart Vogel, who was interim chair since late January.

He will provide ‘strategic leadership and advisory input for the business as it continues its upward trajectory and growth’, the company confirmed.

During his time at Vodafone Pusey played a key role in leading Vodafone Group’s technology strategy for networks and IT operations internationally.

He boasts strong relationships with a number of technology companies including ARM, Centrica, FireEye and GlobalLogic.

Commenting on his appointment, Pusey said: “AI is an extremely exciting organisation in a space that is on the cusp of huge expansion as the connected infrastructure and smart city agenda continue to draw the attention and prioritisation of cities and businesses around the world.”

BAI Group CEO Igor Leprince added: “Steve Pusey is one of the most accomplished people in our industry. Throughout his time at Vodafone, his leadership, relationships, and deep capability in growing technology businesses delivered phenomenal performance and results for the business.

“His knowledge, experience and support for the business, and our leadership team, will be invaluable as we continue to work to enhance our value proposition to our customers especially the mobile network operators.”

BAI Communications is currently working towards providing a 4G cellular network across the London Underground by 2024.
