Experienced buying manager joins as accessories manufacturer continues recruitment drive

Bluechipworld has continued its expansion plans with the appointment of former Asda, EE and Carphone Warehouse buying manager James Bain.

Bain (pictured) was appointed as senior national account manager with the accessories manufacturer this month. He is responsible for managing and developing relationships with key retail partners – which include Carphone Warehouse, Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Vodafone, O2 and Argos.

Previous roles
He joins Bluechipworld from Asda, where he was telecoms buying manager for almost three years. Prior to that he held postpay and prepay buyer positions at Carphone Warehouse over a two year period.

He was also senior commercial manager at EE for 18 months and spent four years at Orange, as a product specialist for care and warranty, and then as mobile enhancements manager.

Expansion plans
Bluechipworld CEO Simon Hassell said: “James is a great hire. Since our office move – and in line with our ambition and strategy – we are attracting high-quality calibre staff. James is joining us from a huge company like Asda, so we must be doing something right.”
