Telecoms provider has more than halved partner numbers in the country, according to sources

BT has reduced the number of its mobile reseller partners in Northern Ireland following a strategic review.

According to sources, BT has reduced partner numbers from around 44 to just 16.

BT confirmed cuts had been made but declined to confirm the figures.

BT Mobile resellers have been contacted over the past two months and given 30 days’ notice that their contracts will be terminated.

A BT spokesperson said: “BT’s partner channel in the Northern Ireland business sector grew significantly in scope and size over the past number of years. Upon completion of a recent review of our future strategy and objectives in this channel, we retained partners that we feel best align with our brand, will meet our customers’ needs and will support our growth ambitions in this sector.

“For those partners who were not retained, they received communications via a number of channels, outlining details of our review.”
