Tow joins Vodafone Platinum Partner as chief commercial officer three months after departure from airtime distributor

Ex-Avenir Telecom UK managing director Andy Tow has joined Vodafone Platinum Partner Excalibur Communications as chief commercial officer.

Tow, formerly head of indirect sales at Vodafone, will be working directly underneath chief executive officer James Phipps at the Swindon-based dealer. He joins a company with a mobile connection base of in excess of 35,000 connections and will spearhead sales and marketing at the company.

Chess purchased Avenir Telecom’s UK airtime distribution base of 60,000 in June. It was subsequently rebranded as Chess Partner Services with Tow departing the following month.

“Excalibur really stands out as a company with exceptionally high values who go about their business the right way,” Tow said in a statement. “I had no hesitation in joining. This year’s record turnover is built on solid, sustained growth, but there’s much more to come. I look forward to being part of the company’s ongoing success story, so please, watch this space.”

Exacalibur’s chief executive officer James Phipps, added: “Andy is a highly regarded business leader who would never be short of top quality job offers. We are very pleased to have secured his services and are confident that his enthusiasm for our company ethos, especially in delivering exceptional customer service, will play a pivotal role in our continuing development”.
