Former EE CEO Swantee joins Vodafone as non-exec director

Swantee has held senior roles at a number of different telco’s 

Olaf Swantee, the ex-CEO or Orange and EE who masterminded the merger of Orange and T-Mobile, has joined Vodafone Group as a non-executive director.

Swantee left EE in 2015 and became CEO of Swiss telco Sunrise Communications between 2016-202.

At EE he was involved with the merger of Orange UK and T-Mobile following the sale to BT.

Swantee also held a number of senior positions at France Telecom (now Orange Group), Hewlett-Packard, Compaq Computer and Digital Equipment.

He is also due to be appointed chairman of Swiss company Mobile Zone.

Swantee is currently a non-executive director of Telia; but will relinquish that post. He has previously held non- executive roles at T-Mobile US, Legal & General, Mobistar (Belgium), Mobinil (Egypt), and Orange in Poland (former TP).

He has written a book about his EE experience called “The 4G Mobile Revolution: Creation, Innovation and Transformation at EE”.
