Vodafone Platinum Partner acquires second dealer in the past month, taking its total user base past 200,000 connections

OneCom has acquired Vodafone Gold Partner The Communications. The deal adds 7,000 connections to its total base, which has now exceeded 200,000.

The Communications Centre was founded in 1990 and has offices in Cheltenham, Gloucester and Stroud. The purchase gives OneCom a presence in Gloucester to add to its offices in Whiteley, Hampshire, as well as offices in Camberley, Leeds, Hereford, Birmingham, Southampton, Bristol, Telford, Plymouth and Norfolk.

OneCom is retaining all three of The Communication Centre’s offices across Gloucester, as well as all seven staff working across them.

This latest deal comes a month after OneCom acquired fellow Vodafone Platinum Partner OneStream, adding 13,000 connections. That followed OneCom’s acquisition of business lead generation firm Black Sheep Communications in September.

OneCom chief executive Darren Ridge (pictured) said: “This is an acquisition that makes excellent business sense. The Communications Centre is a well-run, lean business and is in an area which fits with our plans to continue to increase OneCom’s geographic spread.”

OneCom, which employs more than 250 people across the UK, was formed in June following the merger of Premier Telecom and Business Phones Direct, creating a company with a turnover in excess of £40 million.
