Businesses customers of other networks can now take advantage of free service

O2’s Priority Moments for Independent Businesses service has been extended to cover firms who do not have contracts with the network.

The service was originally rolled-out to the firm’s independent business customers in July to allow them to promote offers and services to O2 customers through the Priority Moments app.

Although initially strictly for O2 customers the network has now expanded it to cover any independent business.

Firms can use a specifically designed section of the website to advertise deals such as time-limited discounts and free incentives to visit stores, cafes and other high street independents on production of a voucher downloaded from O2’s Priority Moments app.

O2 director of business Ben Dowd said: “Against the backdrop of one of the toughest economic periods ever seen on the UK high street, we know that times can feel particularly tough for small business owners, who often lack the time and resources to make the most of their marketing, particularly in the fast evolving digital world.

By opening up the world of mobile to some of the UK’s smallest, most exciting independent businesses, we can help them compete with the marketing fire-power of much bigger more established brands and in doing so, help them boost footfall and increase profitability.”
