TeleShield can detect the validity of a phone number from across the world

TMT Analysis, a mobile numbering intelligence firm, has launched a new product aimed at detecting telephone scams.

TeleShield has been created to support telcos and mobile operators in particular to detect and prevent fraud, which resulted in losses of $38 billion (£28 billion) in 2019, according to international organisation the Communication Fraud Control Association.

The product has been developed specifically to tackle international revenue share fraud (IRSF) and origin based fraud (OBR).

According to TMT Analysis, TeleShield is able to provide real-time intelligence for telephone numbers and real-time integration to shield customers from falling victim to fraud. This includes technology to determine the validity of a phone number, which checks whether that number is assigned to a customer, has recently been ported or is currently roaming.

“Frauds such as OBR and ISRF are a growing problem for companies working in the telephony sector and they have a huge financial impact on these businesses globally,” said Mark Page, VP of sales at TMT Analysis.

“TeleShield enables companies to detect and defend themselves from this kind of fraud, thereby protecting their profitability and reputation with their customers.”

TMT Analysis claims that the product has coverage to detect phone numbers from 240 territories across the world.
