Vodafone has partnered with Openreach to provide the three cities with the gigafast broadband

Vodafone has extended its Gigafast broadband rollout, with the service now live in 15 towns and cities across the UK.

Birmingham, Bristol and Liverpool have become the latest areas to benefit, with around 360,000 homes and businesses connected.

The operator has collaborated with Openreach to deliver speeds close to 1Gbps on a full-fibre connection.

Vodafone is aiming to reach 500,000 premises by mid-2021 across these three cities.

In total, Vodafone’s Gigafast broadband is expected to be available in more than three million UK premises over the next year, with the previous 12 locations part of an ongoing agreement with CityFibre.

The latest cities also have access to Vodafone’s 5G smartphone service.

Vodafone UK CEO Nick Jeffery said: “Birmingham, Bristol and Liverpool now have some of the fastest mobile and broadband speeds in the UK.

Gigafast cities are the cities that will proudly play their part in shaping the future of the UK.”
