The deal will enable Exertis to continue its push in North American market

Exertis has continued its expansion in North America following the acquisition of Almo Corporation.

DCC Technology, which trades as Exertis, claims the acquisition is the biggest in its history.

The takeover of Almo Corporation will enable Exertis to strengthen its Pro AV capability in the region, with the distributor aiming to become the largest specialist Pro AV business in North America.

Despite the acquisition, the Almo Corporation will continue to be led by the Chaiken Family, with Warren Chaiken as CEO and Gene Chaiken as president.

The business will become rebranded as Exertis Almo Pro AV shortly after the transition is completed, Exertis has confirmed.

Exertis has grown its North American arm of the business to $2.4bn, with this side of the company overseen by Exertis North America managing director Martin Szpiro.

DCC Technology and Exertis MD Tim Griffin said: “By integrating Almo with our North American Business, we will form the largest specialist Pro AV business in North America.

“Almo’s 75-year history of growth and success, combined with its longstanding relationships with industry partners and its ability to continually innovate and expand will be great assets to Exertis.”
