Insurance tariffs will be available to airtime distributor’s reseller partners from £2.99 per month

Chess Telecom has partnered with Pier Insurance to offer its reseller partners mobile policy cover packages.

The insurance tariffs available through the airtime distributor start from £2.99 for a standard package through to £9.99 for an Apple iPhone 6s on a premium package.

The latter comes with a service called ‘Never Be Without Your Phone’. Rather than customers sending phones away to be repaired, Pier will visit the customer at a location of their choice to carry out the job. If that’s not possible, it will exchange it on a like-for-like basis for another phone.

Chess Telecom partners can earn up to 30 per cent ongoing revenue share from every insurance sale.

Pier Insurance operations director Simon Harvey said: “This service has been designed in response to a review of how customers feel when they have to part with their devices, which they rely on for many everyday functions.

“This has allowed Pier to leverage its in-house facilities to differentiate a product, which is rarely achieved in such a generic marketplace and Pier to leverage it’s in-house facilities to differentiate a product that is rarely achieved in such a generic market place.”

Chess Telecom managing director John Pett (pictured) said: “When searching for a new insurance partner, Pier stood out based upon its true end to end management of the customer experience alongside having, in our opinion, the best product on the market that would add value to our great range of existing services that we offer to the channel.”

Pier Insurance is based in Shoeburyness, Essex. Since being established in 2003, it has sold just under one million policies.
