Partnership will see distributor offer insurance services to B2B and B2C resellers for the first time

Ingram Micro has teamed-up with Supercover Insurance to provide a variety of smartphone, tablet and laptop cover packages to its reseller partners.

The partnership, which began this month, sees Ingram offer insurance services to B2B and B2C resellers for the first time, with partners able to earn up to 25 per cent commission from the customer spend.

A number of packages are available, covering theft, loss, accidental and liquid damage, malicious damage (by a third party), extended warranty and unauthorised calls made on your lost or stolen device.

Ingram partners will be able to sign-up customers for the insurance services, which will be Supercover branded and not a white label, through a specially-created portal. Partners will be able to view all account information, such as commission statements and reports.

Supercover has more than 1.5 million policy holders and recently brought in former T-Mobile dealer channel boss John Fannon to strengthen the firm’s links with the UK mobile industry.

Ingram Micro director of sales and marketing Richard Wills commented: “Our customers now have a range of packages to choose from with incredibly competitive 12 to 24-month exclusive offers and ongoing commissions.”
