Increase to 27 sites expected to occur by July 2013, as online retailer focuses on strategy of building a large network of localised bases
Mobile Fun plans to more than double the number of country-specific sites it operates from 13 to 27 in the next 10 months.
In addition to its Birmingham HQ, Mobile Fun has offices in Germany, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, France and the US, with an international workforce of 12.
Last month, the firm launched sites for Australia, Austria, India, Canada and Ireland, all of which are run from existing offices in other territories.
Around 30 per cent of Mobile Fun’s revenues currently come from operations outside the UK and Mobile Fun managing director Mo Hussain said the international expansion was helping the firm grow its revenues.
The firm’s last published accounts for the year ending March 2011 reported revenues of £10 million.
Mobile Fun managing director Mo Hussain (pictured) told Mobile News: “We are looking to establish a big network of localised sites.
“Austria can be run from our German office, Belgium can be run through our Dutch office.
“It’s a transition of our strategy – rather than getting someone on board then launching the site, we will launch the site and add people based on where we see promising signs of orders coming in quickly.
“Then we can bring in staff and localise them, but we don’t want to overextend ourselves and recruit 20 people straightaway.”
